Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire

I'm using the Kindle app on my iPhone. I know it sounds uncomfortable, but I actually really enjoy it and have gone through six or seven books with it already :)

Really? It really did sound uncomfortable to me, that's why I didn't install it on mine. Maybe it's worth a shot, and I'll be pleasantly surprised just like you!

Back to topic, considering I, like many others, ordered the books after being fascinated by season 1, would you advise to read the first one or skip straight to the 2nd?

Did just the same only with paperback copies for 19$ through Amazon. I'm beginning to toy with the idea of getting a Kindle.

I got one the other week and read through the first three of these books, currently getting stuck into the fourth. The selection of books is actually quite good (and I can only expect it will get better) and I really like the E Ink - I've read a few books on LCD screens but its much more comfortable to really get stuck into on E Ink - I find my concentration waning on LCD and getting headaches more frequently because of the permanent harsh contrast. All in all I really recommend the kindle though because it really escapes all that and its easy to adjust to.

As for reading the first book or not, I read it and whilst there are a few details that are adapted in the screenplay its not all that much different, I read it just because I didnt want to feel I was cheating myself of anything but you could probably skip it and still maintain a strong comprehension of what was occurring in the second.

Im not much for reading but definitely caught all these on HBO. Damn good I'd say

The Borgias on Showtime was pretty good as well.

Yep big fan of the books and the series.

Although this isn't on HBO On Demand anymore you can still watch the whole series through the new HBO GO online service (with subscription of course)

I was a big fan of their ROME series from a few years ago as well and even it's on there. Best I can tell all of the HBO series are up there.

I totally agree that Game of Thrones is one of the best in the genre since LOTR....without question.

I´m loving the series but I won´t bother reading the books.
I want a badass midget in my circle of friends.
