So...Deus Ex fucking rules. I'd say it's definitely as good as the first one. I feel like it could have been better in a lot of ways, but many of those are just nit-picking.
I've been enjoying the hell out of Operation Flashpoint: Red River. If the AI wasn't atrocious I'd call it amazing but as is it's merely a deeply flawed but ambitious and really cool shooter that makes you feel like a badass marine when you spot an enemy silhoutte on a ridgeline 400 yards off and drop him with a reflex sight. The scale of the operations is great, it really makes it feel like a real war. Unfortunately, the AI falls apart really hard in CQB situations, and the game is clearly just not meant to be played close-up like that.
Started playing Dead Island today. So far it's pretty good, though it feels unfinished and poorly ported to PC. The melee combat is enjoyable, but I feel like it'll get old in a few hours.
Also, has anyone else played Risen? I started it (about 30 mins in) and so far it's incredibly unpolished and bland. Not sure if I should stick with it, it reminds me of a less polished Arcania: Gothic 4, which was itself a very bland, forgettable action RPG but was at least quite polished. This thing got good reviews and such, but I'm not sure if I should stick with it.
