I will probably "finish" Final Fantasy XII by Christmas. All that's left is a few of the optional bosses and rare monsters. It was a fun game but lacked some of the humor and minigames of previous installments. I've put nearly 200 hours into it, so it was definitely worth the $20 I paid for it. I will have to buy something new sooner or later, and since I do not buy games too often, I'm looking for something with a lot of replay value for PS2. Any recommendations are welcome. I like RPGs. Just don't recommend anything too hard to find.

I still think the old Civ II rocks. The diplomacy in Civ III seemed broken. Everyone hates you. Haven't gotten to Civ IV yet. I worry that it might get too complex though. Civ II had a good balance between time spent managing war specific elements and trade/diplomatic elements. I've been playing every so often for 10 years. It's truly one of the great games of the era.

Devil May Cry 3(original edition) if you want a challenge. It also has loads of replay value too.

Totally. I think Civ I and II had much more replay value, although that could just be because every game is basically a remake. However, I think IV is an improvement from III.

No it's not. It's not even close to normal Warcraft 3 gameplay. It's a whole different game almost. Like I said before it requires a lot of teamwork, knowing the right builds for heroes, the ability to make a good gank, knowing every hero and their abilities, good lane control, etc.

It's not even close because it is dumbed down enough. ;)
And most of those things are needed in Warcraft III too + LOTS more micro and macro management. BTW, normal Warcraft III sucks too.

Just beat Portal between yesterday and today. Brilliant game that is surprisingly hilarious for what amounts to a glorified puzzle game. Highly recommended.

I am continuing my journey in Psychonauts since it was 're-released' of sorts on Xbox Live. This is another often overlooked gem that is equally witty and downright hilarious as it is original. I haven't played any other Schaefer games but it seems now that I am obligated to(I am also looking forward to Brutal Legend more now).

What, you've never played any of his old creations like Grim Fandango or Day of the Tentacle? You really should, they're unforgettable.
Psychonauts is fun.I haven'y played it in a while though I need to look into Portal(can Valve do anythying wrong?).
I've been playing Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King lately and loving it so far.

Grim Fandango is one of the best games ever made.

"My scythe... I keep it right next to where my heart used to be."

Glottis is my favorite character. His voice is just awesome. But they're all brilliant. Brilliant dialogues, brilliant characters, great story. Godly game.

Manuel Calavera: I think we should team up - be partners.
Domino Hurley: Oh, I would, but I could never be partners with someone who was so much more of a man than me.
Manuel Calavera: Oh, come on... I've seen your wife.

Manuel Calavera: I just locked an open door... strange, yet symbolically compelling.

Manuel Calavera: Some festival. eh?
Balloon twister: Yea, yea, pretty busy. My carpal tunnel syndrome is reeally acting up.
Manuel Calavaera: But you don't have any...tendons...
Balloon twister: Yeah, well you don't have a tongue, but that doesn't seem to shut you up, now does it?

I love Grim Fandango but 2nd time I played it through Glottis got on my nerves. Some of the puzzles are genius - The one where you have to drink the gold flaked liquor to get through the metal detector is classic

I love the entire Second Year. Such a classy place he was in. That beatnik club (The Blue Casket, right?) was awesome. I loved the open mic

"The phone... is for you. Don't pet the cat that way."

I finished the game on PC. I really enjoyed it, and thought it was one of the best games in the year it was released. Apart from the final level at certain points, I can't find a fault with it.

Grim Fandango I have to get round to buying still.
