Gaming Thread

First thing you'll want to do is go to the options and make sure both "Advanced Tooltips" as well as "Elective" are ticked. I leveled up my first character wondering why the hell the tooltips sucked so much and why I couldn't actually move my abilities around. If you planned on playing a Monk, you can't even use more than one spirit generator at a time until you turn on Elective.

This is kind of a cool watch, if you've ever wondered what the hell is actually going on in the Diablo universe. It was never really much clearer than "Angels vs Devils".

right, right, right, right, right.... this guy is fucking awful to listen to, right?

Yes, he's hard to listen to, but he's not the only one that ever talks and what they have to say is interesting enough.
Here's a thread that explains what happened to being able to allocate stats. You can no longer do this, and initially it seemed rather limiting for character builds, but the customization has simply transferred from stats to gems (which provide stats among other benefits).

I still think the way that they've implemented skills in this game is worse than how D2 did it, but at least now there's no truly useless skills.

Here's a graphical filter for those who want more of a "Diablo" look, and less of a Warcraft 3 or even WoW look (the current version may not work on release, but they will probably revise it if it does not):

That pixel shader makes things look washed out. It's essentially just toning down color vibrance. No bueno.

Yes, it does tone down the color "vibrance" and does away with the paper lantern look that does not belong in Diablo. The colors in the game make it look more like a Warcraft 3 mod. Even if you like a more Lite Brite look to a game that's supposed to be gritty, the sharpening effect still makes it look a lot better just by itself.

The sharpening effect alone definitely helps. He'd be much better off if he adjusted the levels and brought down the white balance, though.

When he was younger, he was subjected to experiments in which he survived (not all that were chosen did survive). The result left him with a loss of all body pigmentation, including his hair.

I know about just as much as you. I'm imagining it's because he's a witcher, though.

It's what Liver said. Otherwise, why aren't the rest of the witchers around him similar looking?

Is anyone else able to still get into the D3 open beta? It was supposed to be for the weekend only, and I've seen people posting about how they wish Blizzard would let them back in. Yet, I'm still able to play. I opted in ages ago, but never saw any email, and I paid for the digital download weeks ago, but they said that you wouldn't automatically get beta access from buying it early.
