still waiting on Steam to tell me what I need to do short of downgrading to XP to run Steam so I can fucking install the game.

note: tried manually editing my registry to change what IE does with different protocols, and under HKEY_ClasseS_Root it will NOT let me access the Steam:// protocol. http works, so does https, all other protocols allow me to edit them, but Steam will NOT
