geek = metal head...

Outside of school i dont have a social life unless you count talking to people some way online or at airsoft events. Most of my time at home is spent listening to metal, playing guitar, looking at porn, playing games on computer or nintendo, and wandering around the house with an airsoft gun. so im pretty sure i fit the title of geek.

I dunno if I fit.
I have a couple very close friends and a number of people I can comfortably talk with for a while but don't know all that well, although as far as I can tell that nearly qualifies as best friends by standards of a lot of the shallow fucks that surround me :p. My main hobby is playing guitar, which I don't consider "geeky". I don't have the classic geek look - I'm tall, thin, reasonably fit, with a cool beard and long hair. More the stereotypical metalhead. My other hobbies are video games, movies, and D&D. I don't think D&D is even nerdy at this point - it kinda goes beyond that, to some new level of nerdishness. As far as video games...I love 'em. I also read fantasy novels. But I don't think I have a geeky attitude about this stuff. I just enjoy what I enjoy.

I don't know about the geekiness of metalheads, I'm not a geek or a nerd myself. But as I met couple of metalheads in my life I really would say that they are different people than those who are listening to crappy music. Metalheads attitude that I've met was kind of eh...philosophical.

Ahhh right. Well, the closest we get to metalheads here are posers who listen to Slipknot & Disturbed, maybe the odd Metallica single (Enter Sandman anyone?). I wouldn't consider them to be geeks.

Same here, except for one glaring exception (not counting me) who occasionally wears a Death shirt.

At least the one's you've met are shomewhat philosophical. The one's i've met always turn out to be complete morons.

tbh a large number of metalheads are drifting burnouts with substance issues and no future, aspirations, etc.

Not a geek whatsoever; I guess I would commonly be referred to as a jock. I personally know only one legitimate metalhead, who happens to be related to me. In my group of friends, I'm always referred to as the weirder or off-beat one, but it's funny because everything about me screams stereotypical "preppy" kid except for the fact that I listen to metal.

:lol:, I love how so many preppy kids are amazed at the fact that they don't listen to the music that they're supposed to like. It's not that uncommon.
