Get Well Sara Thread

Sara is going to have surgery this morning so let's all send positive energy and thoughts out to her for a sucessful operation and speedy recovery! More updates as we get them.

I wish I had been able to read this earlier and send the energy at surgery time, even if I did my best to send positive healing energy Sara's way in the past few days. And I'll be eagerly awaiting said updates. Thanks for lettin' us all know this one, Linda.

Good luck with everything , Sara! Hope all turns out well. Perhaps my sob story will cheer you up: My buddy and I drove down to Canes all the way from The Valley. We had a couple of bicycles in the back of my truck. So when we got there, we rode around San Diego for a while. When we were done, we decided to grab a bite to eat before the show. As I was commencing to eat a bite of steak, I began to choke. I was able to breathe alright, but I just could not pass any food through a certain point in my esophagus. For the next two hours, I agonized over whether to go to the hospital, or the The Iron Maidens show (HEAVILY leaning towards the Maidens show). Finally, after tremendous effort, I was able to swallow the offending particles of food. But, alas, by this time, the Maidens were most certainly finished with their set. We drove all the way down there, and didn't even make the show. Oh well, hope you're alright anyway. Oh yeah, hello Mark and Linda!

Wow Brian - that's a scary story. Glad to hear you got through it ok.

Sara is home from the hospital and resting up. Keep sending your healing vibes! :)

Ya, there is no place like home, especially after having surgery and spending one night in the hospital I'd imagine! It's a relief to know she is on the road to recovery!:headbang:

No problem, Matt! :)

Brian, we heard about your story briefly from your bro. Glad you're okay! :saint:

So how is Sara doing after surgery? I know it drives me nuts to stay at home after something like that, but I've done a lot of damage running around before I was supposed to. Heal well.

^ omg sooo funny! humor is the best medicine huh! oh yeah and chocolate helps too :) so far so good with the healing - it's all down hill from here :)

That she did! :kickass: Sara played just as well last night as always. :headbang: :worship:

I'll second that!!!:headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I'm curious... while you ladies played as hard as always, you're set was much shorter than usual.
Did y'all schedule it that way?
Sara, was that all you could handle?
If so, it's still awesome you're able to do what you did!:worship: :worship:

Or was it just that Tap Daddy's booking agent srcewed up, and you had to cut things short?
I'm inclined to believe this latter one, as it just seemed like they tried to overbook the night and forgot the each band take time setting up and then breaking down to make ready for the next act. And from what I could spy on your set list from three paces back from the stage, it seemed like yall originally planned the usual 12-14 songs.
Granted, if it wasn't for the my reasoning that if Sara could play in her condition than I can bloody well do a little extra driving, I probably wouldn't have driven up from San Diego. I doubt I'll make it up there to much in the future (not that it wasn't worth the drive last night :worship: :worship:).

But I do feel that if someone is willing to play a gig through an injury, then such willingness deserves that they beallowed to pay all that they set out to if they so choose and the establishment they're playing at would be best to see they get the oppurtunity to play the 12-14 they want to, not cutting them short at 8 or 9 (okay I wasn't counting :worship: :worship: ).

Anyway, I eagerly awaits getting to see a full set from the Maidens! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

There were definite issues with sound and power-which didn't happen last time we played there :erk:

We never take a 5 minute break in the middle of the show and we definitely didn't plan to do NOB with only Linda's drums and the audience singing along with me sans amplication there at the end - although I must say, everybody sounded great!!! :p

Didn't that happen once before, but with Two Minutes To Midnight??
