Gigantour sucked.

....I drive with Opeth all the time and discovered them while browsing. So that makes no sense to me...same effect.
Well have you tried listening to it with headphones and without any distractions? It makes the songs seem less lengthy to me because when you're concentrating you can hear something new every time they repeat a section. I don't know. I just know it is much better for me when I can focus on just the music.
Opeth just doesn't fit the "headbang in your car" thing for me. Maybe I'm just dumb and can't concentrate on music and other things at the same time.

I agree on the headphones. Get a quality pair and listen to Damnation or Blackwater Park and it'll blow you away.

They could've picked four better songs.

Like...
Face of Melinda instead of Windowpane
I guess Ghost of Perdition was alright since they had to play something off of GR.
Blackwater Park instead of The Leper Affinity
and By the Pain I see in Others instead of Deliverance.

Shut the fuck up and reduce your sig size for fucks sake.

I went to the house of blues,Nj show tonight and I enjoyed myself alot-Sure It would of been alot better if Opeth would of played as long as let's say lamb of god(Which I have to admit..They are a love/hate band I suppose but I was Impressed by their live act---Even if they might not be your cup of tea).

Opeth was spot on as usual except....The mixer/sound guys blew!!!Bass was way too high/vocals were too low...Damn shame...Oh and bet your bottom fucking dollar L.O.G and Megadeth(Second time seeing them and they did tear it up) sounded just fine....Blows(I hate the "Head-line" cardinal rule it seems)How the head-liner will (9 times out of 10) will sound better/louder/better overall mix ETC.-For a fest-esque tour like this atleast.
The venue has terrible acoustics IMO.

Overall still a awesome experience and show
I am seeing Opeth in philly on tuesday-If your in the area should definately make the trip out-They are headlineing with Arch enemy as direct support@ the Trocadero!!!

P.S-Merch. is outrageous and So was this particular venue-More so Then I am used to-Bring your savings account along for the ride-haha.

I definately agree that listening to music in general is alot more engaging and Immersive-Especially Opeth with headphones.

i was at gigantour 2 days ago, and i must say opeth was amazing, i've seen them 4 times before and to me they sounded the tightest then, and all the other bands ruled too. Great fucking show!

to all you whining assholes, be glad you got gigantour after all and the chance to see opeth. i live in texas where for whatever reasons the tour management did not book a single fucking show! i guess i'll have to keep my fingers crossed for the next time opeth plays the states to see them again, just so i can become as elitist as some of you and say i've seen them more than once!

your right about the no distractions thing....but opeth is great in the car when you have atleast another person in there to enjoy it with you...singing along and whatnot while its blasting at a red light...its amazing...but yea, sometimes you get into accidents lol...shit happens

I don't think it's this particular venue, usually shirts are $30-35...but the hoodies were fucking outrageous. $65 for an Opeth hoodie that's not nearly as thick as the Dragonforce hoodie I got in Philly for $45.

The shirts are good quality, however. But $65 for a hoodie, jesus christ.
