Give Metallica Some Goddamn Respect!

You don't know anyone on the board here, but you still manage to comment on how you perceive us as having no life, so why can't others comment on what they see?

It's funny how whenever you start posting on a thread, it goes from an interesting discussion to name-calling. If you don't like Anthrax, why do you even come here in the first place? That doesn't seem like something that someone who claims to have a life would do...

Sound of White Noise is better than any of Metallicas last five efforts, and guess what? I will most likely purchase Metallicas new album when it comes out, you wanna know why? Because I'm a metal fan my friend. End of story................

If you're a metal fan, why do you want to buy non-metal CDs? I don't get your logic there.

Anyway, I'm a fan of good music; I buy good CDs. If one of my favorite bands releases a piece of shit (which has happened with other bands besides Metallica. Megadeth "Risk" and Testament "The Ritual" come to mind), I won't buy it. They won't ever learn from their mistakes if everyone just buys their CDs 'cause they're fanboyz.

I agree. I've spent enough money on that last few shitty CD's from Metallica, I'm not going to buy the next one, that's for sure.

The only way I MIGHT consider purchasing it, is if I heard it and realized that they went back to playing good music first, but I'll need to hear it before I buy it.

Oh, damn...Napster isn't around anymore, so I won't be able to hear it there. I guess I just won't hear it...and therefore I won't buy it.

At least Anthrax has been steady enough that I can trust buying before I've even heard anything off it. They'd have to blow it big time on several albums in a row before I got to the point of even needing to sample before I buy. And really, what's the chance of them blowing several albums in a row, never mind one?

I concur! "We" have no life, yet his life is cool because he goes to BB's of bands he doesn't even like and disses their fans and their opinions. Makes sense to me. It's about as logical as a football bat!

Just by how many posts there have been for this thread one can get a pretty good idea how BIG of an impact Metallica has made on Metal in general and it's fans!!
Yes, Metallica seem to be battling at the moment with writing material as good as Master of Puppets. But Kirk said he wanted to test the fans a bit with new ideas they had. If you don't like the fact that Metallica isn't playing as fast or heavy as they can and is trying to use different textures and moods this time around, then that's sad. And it's something I dislike about a lot of so called " metalheads". Fuck you, I can still listen to Diabolus in Musica and then listen to Radiohead or Moby or whatever unmetal band there is! Don't you realise there are other emotions than 1000 points of hate??
Don't you get me wrong and think that I don't like Anthrax cause you know that's a load of shit.

Black was good but a little samey.
Load was entering a new period for the band and showed promise but lacked the epic songwriting of their earlier days.
Reload was more of the same but had too many duds.
Yes, like I said Metallica are getting a little tired and not writing as gooder ( I don't believe there's such a word) material as earlier albums but that doesn't mean you can all treat a band that have inspired so many others like shit. Why are you all so angry? I'm angry with Creed for totally ripping off Pearl Jam, even Phil Anselmo knows it, but, don't hate Metallica for trying new things and dropping a little below their usual standard, because then you just up sounding like babies. "WAH WAH WAH Metallica isn't heavy enough WAH WAH WAH!!!"

In the REAL world, it's called THEFT. That is not an opinion, it is a FACT that has been proven in a court of law.

True, but I have read enough of their posts to get a general idea of what they are like.

Please point out where I said I didn't like anthrax.

Opinion, you posting this was pointless. More people agree with me than you though.

What's the chance? Hmmmm, SOWN, S442, V8 TTIR, Chances look pretty good to me.

then how am I able to sell a used cd. any used cd I want, none of the money goes to the band, and then I get money. so I'm making money off of it as well. At least with napster it's free. and your point about stealing someones car. that's not nearly the same thing. It's like compareing speeding to murder.
There's no way Napster was made just so people could give away Metallica songs. They never should have sued Napster. Their beef was with the fans. There's nothing wrong with just getting a few songs to preview an album before you waste your money on it. It was the users who downloaded every song off of every album. And the 5 second clips you can listen to on the net? first off they are shitty quality secondly, they usually use clips that aren't very good. I listened to clips of the Down CD and I was like, I dunno if I want this but everyone raved about it so I bought it. And I love it. If Napster was around I could listen to a couple songs and then go buy the cd.again FILE SHARING. It was the gluttonous users who ruined it.
