With sample size in the hundreds they have Death at #1. They also have Dream Theater at #1 for 1992, and MoP at #1 in 1986. Wow I didn't even look at these lists before and had the same #1s.

One of the greatest albums of all time.

Nocturnus, Merciless, Carnage, Hellwitch, Massacra, Athiest, Artillery and Blasphemy all released albums better than RIP that year imo. RIP is good (great at times), but I find it inconsistent.

Rust in Peace, Cause of Death, Swallowed in Black, Seasons in the Abyss, From This Day Forward, Final Holocaust, Spiritual Healing, By Inheritance, Cracked Brain, Left Hand Path, Shotgun Justice, Master, Dark Recollections, Coma of Souls, Iced Earth, Oppressing the Masses, Piece of Time, Sanity Obscure, Slaughter in the Vatican, Tortured Existence, Suiciety etc.

Gonna be a hard fuckin' year to rank.
