Yeah, funeral doom used to have a much bigger following here. Never been a huge fan of it myself.

Honestly, I've only heard Pierced From Within only once and I doubt I even made it through the whole record. Will report back in after I relisten

First few Suffocation albums still easily hold my attention.

one of the greatest/most important death metal bands of all time. Effigy and Pierced are 5 star death metal classics. Breeding the Spawn is almost up there too, 4.5/5.

the fact that they wont make the top 5 here is honestly mind-boggling.

okay so, i'm much more keen on the squashed tones of effigy of the forgotten. i do think Pierce From Within is a much deeper album and it has its neck breaking moment, but it never amounts to much for me
