I'm really glad I started this exciting argument.
HAHAHAHAHA bro, you think you started this argument? I was talking about this shit years ago, everyone knows that rofl . Just because there's no record of it doesn't mean shit brah because everyone knows. By the way, no one here likes you, lots of people messaged me and told me but they all told me to stay quiet about it and I always keep my word.

A few people have indeed talked shit about you to me(word for word what i said last time). I put that on your mother. If they had any self respect they would come out and say it themselves.

And again, aren't you the same faggot who was complaining about idiotic arguments just yesterday? My dick must have clearly left a bad taste in your mouth if your current mission in life is to go thread to thread trying to troll me only to cry about it to yourself and the mods. I have a better suggestion, go cry about it to your trailor park wife.

IN contrast to prior attempts, maybe we should formulate a DSM like way to type the in-crowd.

How to diagnose someone suffering from symptoms consistent with Incrowditis:

Critera:

A. Likes Black Metal without other subgenre qualifiers
B. Mostly prefers first releases and/or S/Ts
C. Mostly dislikes bands with tshirts in Hot-Topic
- specify if US band specific
- or not US band specific
D. Likes a band only liked by persons who meet criteria A-C.
- specify if such bands liked include Manilla Road

Am I forgetting any other very notable qualifiers. Want to try to mostly avoid band specific mentions unless one is egregiously obvious.

This gets a lot of it, but D is the biggest part yet also the most most nebulous.

I think a vague sense of genuineness and fantastical scope is behind a lot of it. Metal bands that sing about metal are seldom in-crowd. Metal bands that sing about day-to-day life are only slightly above that. I think that's a lot of the reason why the in-crowd likes Fates Warning more than Queensryche, Virgin Steele more than Manowar, Manilla Road more than Armored Saint, Candlemass more than Solitude Aeturnus, Sabbat more than most Bay Area thrash, etc.

I think everyone here truly knows i didn't start using that term when i got back. You would have to be a on a super high level of denial to even simply otherwise. If you guys tattled a little less my original post would still be here for your viewing. You guys go crying to the mods so much that i have posts here deleted every other week.

Yet the only posts you have using the term were after you got back.

pretentious, nose held high in the air posers who have their own little flock of mini-pretenders that follow their guidelines of what is good and what isn't. has very little to do with a specific subgenre/band or anything like that ....

... again, reading evidently is not your strongpoint.

But let me get this straight. Are you really implying that i started using that term this year? Please just answer that so i would know what kind of person you truly are. There are plenty of words that i can use to describe you, but never took your for a straight up liar.

Also, you're a liar when you say you never took me for a straight up liar, you liar.

 sure you didnt. I know youre dumb, but never took you for a liar.

Virgin Steele more than Manowar

as i keep saying, this is categorically an out-crowd thing, manowar are one of the in-crowd's greatest totems and virgin steele are usually loved by hard rock leaning types in my experience. the in-crowd also loves metal bands who sing about metal because being in-crowd means circle jerking over one's metalness. i'm sure tech barb gets this shit, this may be evidence that he did in fact invent the term

This certainly wasn't true 5 years ago, at least. I'll admit that Manowar's reputation has seemingly warmed; it wasn't long ago that people still took Quorthon at his word when he denied Manowar influence on Viking-period Bathory. Regardless, go to RYM and look at reviews fawning over the Marriage albums and actively defending against Manowar comparisons.

Aside from stuff like Judas Priest which shouldn't even count, name in-crowd bands that often sing about metal. I'll bet it's mostly limited to a handful of trad bands that occasionally sang about metal but primarily covered fantasy and history.

rym is full of normies tho, it's a normie thing to think manowar are cheeseball/gay/a joke, their early stuff is mostly just considered legendary by the type of people who also like manilla road and co.

i'm thinking of stuff in the vein of metalucifer, cranium, barbatos, gehennah. drunken raise the horns metal ist krieg shit

At the very least I know Mort strongly preferred Virgin Steele to Manowar, I'm pretty sure a few other big in-crowders did as well.

That stuff isn't exactly in-crowd, or at least not the old in-crowd. That's shitlord metal for people like MasterYoda and CASSETTEISGOD. It's the kind of stuff an in-crowder could still tolerate or even enjoy, but the in-crowd is basically never putting a Metalucifer album into a top 10 year list.
