GMD Poll: Top Ten Albums of 2006

I’ve wanted to own that Dolorian album for years, for curiosity’s sake. I wonder why it was never reissued. Not willing to pay $60+ on Discogs for a cd.

I doubt it gets reissued. Dolorian just isn't well known enough, and hasn't been active for at least a few years, so I doubt there would be much money in it for the label (Wounded Love Records, which is owned by Avantgarde).

To be honest, $60 would be cheap these days. More likely $100+

the great cold distance is where i checked out with katatonia, everything from there on seemed shitty to me. still fond of their middle period though.

surprised you like keep of kalessin haha, i saw them live supporting enslaved back in the day, never really got into them though.

definitely check out the assedium at least, it’s pretty pompeyfied

The Keep of Kalessin isn't a nostalgic favorite but something I checked out for this poll on a whim and I was really positively surprised by it. It's pretty commercialized-sounding and I wouldn't expect you or your alts to love it but it has a tempestuous energy that I just get swept up in. The opener in particular absolutely owns:

The Keep of Kalessin isn't a nostalgic favorite but something I checked out for this poll on a whim and I was really positively surprised by it. It's pretty commercialized-sounding and I wouldn't expect you or your alts to love it but it has a tempestuous energy that I just get swept up in. The opener in particular absolutely owns:

Didn’t mind this on the whole actually. It’s not awful. I’ve heard a few of their tracks over the years.

They probably get a lot of flack because of entering the Eurovision Song Contest. But the track they entered with is inexcusably terrible:
