GMD Song Survivor: Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind - Round 1

What are the TWO WORST songs on Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind?

  • Total voters

Well I have no way of knowing if a vote is truly a joke vote, so I'll just take the poll results at face value. All I can do is politely ask Baroque and anyone else to refrain from voting insincerely in subsequent rounds.

Quest for Fire is much better song than Sun and Steel. It sucks that the former has more votes already.

Sun & Steel has a godly singalong chorus though. It was my first favorite Iron Maiden song so I can't vote against it too early.

For some reason despite its classic status, it was the very last song to hook me on the album, and never really transcended into an all-time great. I remember when I was 13 or so showing off my autistic knowledge of the Iron Maiden discography's track order including track durations when possible, I had this weird moment where I was like "Hmm, I swear this album had 9 tracks instead of 8 like the rest of the early Bruce albums, but I can't remember that 9th, oh well", and The Trooper was the one I couldn't remember.

Trying to pick a 'bad' or lesser song on Piece of Mind is futile. It's not a case of a 'worst' song rather, a personal inkling for such a tune that grabs one more so than another. It's a dumb thread. The only filler on the album is 'Nicko'

Can't deny Nicko had a great start with Where Eagles Dare and I don't think there are any songs on this album that are worse for his presence, though I'd agree that Clive wins overall.

My vote is gonna go for either Still Life or Revelations. Going to listen to a few of the songs i usually skip and be back.

And once again i laugh at anyone who thinks this album is anywhere near as good as Show No Mercy or Kill Em All.
