Obviously make sure to hit up RYM yourself and search your favourite genres.

The deadline is 31st of December 2018.

The rules:
- submit at least 5 releases.
- first place in your rankings gets 10 points, 2nd gets 9, etcetc, 10th gets 1.
- feel free to post more than 10, but only the top 10 will get points.
- feel free to post less than 10, the same scoring will apply.
- feel free not to rank your picks, in which case all ten picks will get 5.5 points.

GNMD = General Non-Metal Discussion, so NO METAL ALBUMS are to be included in anybody's list.

Stop being a patsy and make your list without caring what others think is metal :p

When Machine Head is listed in the link in the OP as hard rock I see it as Hard Rock as I see Wishbone Ash.
If others disagree fuck 'em, until someone important and/or knowledgeable comes out with a definitive list of what is and isn't metal I'm gonna call them as I see them.

Is metal archives not good enough for you? What about literally the whole world referring to their early Mark II lineup work(with Machine Head *arguably being their heaviest) as some of the earliest examples of heavy metal? Still not enough? What about some of the greatest metal musicians referring to them as a heavy metal band? Are they not knowledgeable enough for you?

Shit, VOL 4. is also considered hard rock/heavy metal on that RYM list, why not include that one on your list too since they're the important/knowledgeable site that you're going with?
