GO THE SWANS!!!!

West Coast Eagles

the wests tigers are winning with 57 minutes down. Hopefully they win and the cowboys do too!

First AFL game I've watched. Are they all that scrappy? Seems they would kick, then spend a minute crawling around on the ground trying to get the ball. Not my cuppa tea.

Quite exciting near the end though. That clock changing with five minutes to go is stupid though - how are you supposed to know how much time is left?

That was a top win. Brett Kirk and Leo Barry's marks were amazing with the amount of pressure on them.

Spiff: Not always that scrappy - but gee that makes for a fun game to watch. You can really tell who wants the ball more in a lot of the situations and it gets you pumped. Judd winning the Norm Smith was a load though - yeah, he got possessions, but what does that matter in the end? I think he's a very over-rated player. He gets the ball and runs... doesn't always do great things with it. Jarrad Crouch was the better man I thought, on the day, making some very very crucial plays that really helped them get over the line. Yet every commentator had their mouth firmly on Judd's genitalia and apparently Crouch was beaten by him.

So happy the Swannies won!

I hate watching AFL partly because it is scrappy.. I watched the last 5-10 minutes of that game and I was getting frustrated, ffs just pick up the ball!! And the field is a massive oval, yet the ball goes out constantly!!! Ah well, I'll stick to avoiding AFL :p

it's better something actually happening than just the same thing over and over.

Grab the ball, throw it backwards, run forwards, get tackled, put ball under your foot. Repeat 4 times then kick. Next team's turn.

Every now and again, someone doesn't get tackled and a try occurs.

No. That's a style of play that Sydney bought into the game.. they were heavily critised for it early in the season, and are now the Premiers.. :yuk:

Exactly what I was saying last week! They went ahead and proved me right; lowest winning GF score since 1963 or something like that. Neither side scored over 60 points, which is rather sad. It was an absorbing game, but not exactly one of a high standard....surprise surprise.

I might watch some Fox Footy Channel over the next few months, see if I can develop a taste for this dodgy game you kids seem to love so much.

True! Despite what I said before, I did think it was one of the best grand finals in recent times.
