God damn it all...

Haha, yeah - I feel like admitting one likes Manowar is like coming out of the closet, but THEY'RE SO GOOD!!!! "Heart of Steel" was seriously my anthem when I was a shy, depressed High School Freshman back in '02 (with lyrics like "I fight the world, and take all they can give / there are times my heart hangs low / born to walk against the wind / born to hear my name / no matter where I stand, I'm alone," and of course, it's all about crusading for metal :heh: )

Manowar was the first metal band i've listined to :D Yeah, they have a couple of really good songs. Blood of the Kings, Guyanna, Black Wind Fire & Steel, Hail And Kill... those come to my mind as the favourite ones :) But the ideology and overall image... fucking g-g-gay

Don't like the music unfortunately. King Diamond is awesome though .

Oh, the guitarist is a fucking tool. The drummer is a pretty cool guy though. Never met anyone else. It's pretty funny that they are this big ass band living in the middle of bum fuck nowhere (Auburn NY).

The guitarist has a studio just down the road, but I have never heard anything come out of there so I don't have any comment. Actually I don't even know if there is a name to this studio.

King Diamond rules. Manowar rules too.

Their 1992 Triumph of Steel is killer. Pretty scary guitar work and tight drumming, shame they fired both their guitarist and drummer after only one album.

But I agree their overall image is gay. You won't see me wearing any of their shirts, that's for sure. Although their cover artwork on most albums is also awesome. Damn, I must be getting gay too.

Never could get into Manowar and the whole metal-crusade-anthem-brothers of metal thing. King Diamond...now that's another story! I had to bust out Abigail at work the other day, because it had been such a long time since I listened to it. Great stuff there!

The key to maximum Manowar enjoyment: Just don't ever take them (or yourself listening to them) to serious. They won't admit it, but they wouldn't either.

Hail and kill, brotha! :kickass:

do the Manowar drinking game

put any 3 cds on random play ... have lots of beers ready, I mean LOTS

everytime Eric Adams says the words "Kill", "Blood" or "Die" you have to take a drink

If he says anything that ends with "...The Night" you have to kill whatever is left in the beer you're holding so if its a fresh one, you're pretty much fucked

See if you make it through more than 4 songs :D

Hahahaha, seriously, Manowar's image is awesome because of the hilarity and ridiculousness of it - even if they take themselves seriously (which I supremely hope is not the case :erk: ), the point is that I don't, and absolutely love it  And the music really does have a unique rockin' uplifting edge to it IMO that I just can't get enough of; sure, tons of songs are totally forgettable, but I think Eric Adams honestly has one of my favorite singing voices in metal, and songs like "King" on Louder than Hell just give him such an opportunity to belt out the most awesomely cheesy lyrics/melodies - I LOVE MANOWAR!!!! :heh:

And yeah, Blow your Speakers is a fucking terrible song, and hardly a good example! For me, Kings of Metal and Louder than Hell (the albums) are my favorites, though I'm hardly an expert in their discography.
