got my tissues out ....

All three do the lyrics. It just depends on the album and the song.

The new Terrorizer has Slayer on the cover, and there's a pretty good interview. No review of the album, though.

Haven't heard the album yet, waiting for the release date.

Nice, and yeah, I don't get how anyone into metal can dislike Slayer. That's almost as bad as disliking Sabbath. [/doesn't like Priest or Maiden]

The CD might be worthwhile but Araya's hypocrisy really turns me off

Only in the darkness of Christ have I realized -- God hates us all! blehhe
Is fiction really that painful to enjoy? ;)

Of course my favorite Slayer lyrics are their political ones, shit like Dittohead and Skeletons of Society sand my crotch into oblivion.

I couldn't give a fuck whether the vocalist of any given band actually meant what he was singing in the lyrics - I mean, I'm pretty sure Jonas from Katatonia never actually took part in an incident that involved him and a gang of friends kicking some someone in the skull until they were dead actually happened, despite what 'We Must Bury You' said. I'm also fairly certain that Corpsegrinder has never actually fucked a 'Skull Full Of Maggots' or whatever. All that matters to me is that the shit rocks.

Ah fuckit, I'm downloading it right now.

Yep, that's Slayer alright. Pretty good, very punk like their really early shit. Time will tell if it has any depth, but I am enjoying it so far.

haha, I just realized these dudes are in their 40's.

Also halfway through I'm a bit underwhelmed, but generally speaking a bad first impression of a familiar band turns out to be a good thing in the long run. There's no doubt I'll be getting this on the release date anyhow, so further listenings will (hopefully) allow further enjoyment. This is most certainly Slayer, something I couldn't really say about Goat Hates The Jews, even if I thought that album was pretty okay at times.

Feed me... your HATE!

I chucked it into some random folder, listened to the first 4 songs and shall now wait the week and a half to grasp a copy in my cold dead hands.

It's not so much "fiction", more like someone delivering a message completly contrary to his beliefs. I want honest and serious music and I just can't stand such blatant hypocrisy. I can tolerate a vocalsit screaming about something he doesn't support with all of his heart (the case of most (gimmick) black metal bands I guess) but not a catholic yapping about the darkness of christ and whatnot -- such things are sad

oh yeah, the wheel was not reinvented ... but again ... best shit since Seasons for sure ....

CATATONIC :kickass:

excerpt from an interview with Lombardo ...

Exclaim!: What are your current fixations?

Lombardo: "Right now it's music and it's been that for a while: rhythm and music, immersing myself in as much good stuff as possible. There's a Bulgarian band TARAF DE HAIDOUKS and their album 'Band of Gypsies'. Their music is fast and resembles the intensity and the speed of SLAYER. It's a whole different genre, gypsy folk music. But let me tell you, it's some of the fastest stuff that I've ever heard in my life. I'm just intrigued by these guys who enjoy playing fast like we do, so there's a common thread there. It gives you a good rush."

I do believe I uploaded some songs from Taraf for you guys last year ... great gypsy band (except they are Romanian not Bulgarian as Lombardo says) ... especially when drunk :kickass:
