He's a tenor, but that's not the same thing as "power metal vox." Power metal vocalists tend to have a thinner, less robust sound and heavily use their falsetto ranges. Dickinson doesn't use falsetto at ALL.

i think though, that iron maiden can be classified as nothing but power metal, and power metal bands DO tend to have power vocalists.
i havent heard much of BD's solo stuff, but what i have heard smacks of power
by the way, how can you say that iced earth's vocalist has a "thin robust" sound??? barlow has one of the strongest voices i have ever heard!!!

Iron Maiden, power metal? AHAHAHAHAHA! Maiden are just plain old fashioned heavy metal. None of the neoclassical elements, falsetto vocals or general gayness of power metal, and Dickinson's solo work is even farther from power metal.

Not really, not in the overt and constant fashion utilized by power metal. Every Maiden song pretty much consists of variations on galloping rhythms a chord progression of E-C-D. Power metal fused Yngwie influenced lead work and neoclassical elements with speed metal structures.

Maiden w/o a doubt paved the way for power metal, the galloping rythms, the lyrical content, the tri guitar melodies.
Yngwie just influenced the neo classical portion of it, theres more to power metal than just some guy shreddin E and A phyrigian, while ripping diatonic minor key arps.

dude, there are so many metal bands with clean vox, and the ones mentioned here are great. check them out. but dont disregard death vox. they are a big proportion of metal.

try andromeda, more prog the metal but they are damn good.
