Give me some thoughts about the Dark Tower series in ADDITION to my main question:

What did you think of the Crimson King?

(I ask this because, during my cumulative DT research I found many fans were dissapointed)

The Crimson King definitely wasn't what I was expecting from the earlier descriptions; I was looking for the spider, and the hints of undeath his three servants were talking about. But his human form definitely had potential; the problem was that the whole thing seemed rushed and crowded, just packing too much in. The character of Mordred should have been introduced earlier, IMO, and given time to grow as a threat.

I can expand on this later. My brain hurts right now.

I expected some big palaver like in the first book with the man in black. I was aching to KNOW the King. Because he just seemed so COOL.

When I read it I was surprised at the final confrontation... then.. it dawned on me... BATMAN.

Both characters, ROland and the King, are the red and white's paragon lifeforms: Of unbelievable will and determination.

Which is, in a way, like Batman and Joker. Ultimately the showdown is kind of like that. And I love it now!

This is a terrible way to present my thoughts... but it is cold!!
