Indeed, she was a pretty useless senator, and I don't think she would stand at all on any proclaimed principle, and I don't belief Bill would have nearly as much influence on her as we might wish.

Perhaps it's being cynical but I can't see any candidate really changing all that much. At this point it's pretty much damage control. Vote for whoever is likely to cause the least amount of injury while they bugger you.
