The growls are the easier part, as Mike says himself. But the cleans...yeah...he´s been blessed with a beutiful voice he has leared to use better and better. And it´s much about harmonies too. That´s difficult, I´d say. I really must raise my hat to his harmonies.

I was more focused on HOW he got the growls sooo god-like. I really wish it was as simple as a box. But I doubt it would be...

Mikael really has that voice well, for the growls, I heard he uses pretty high volume on the mic.....so he doesn't have to scream..... I bet that saves his voice

Well I think that voice is an instrument, that you must learn how to use. I mean, you just can't play guitar very good if you haven't played it long enough, same goes for vocals. The vocals on Opeth has got a lot better through the years...
Well, you have to have good voice to sing, but without training, it's useless...
