How many bands have actually only had one good, solid album?

The only Malmsteen CD with any substance (substance defined as not playing arpeggio's at light speed for 10 or 12 tracks straight) is the Concerto for Electric Guitar and Orchestra.

i thought the thread is about bands that had only one album released and that album was really good:
now in this way:
Gargoyle-same : amazing u.s. power metal
Oliver Magnum-same: amazing u.s. power metal part 2 heh
Cynic-Focus: of course!
End Amen: the amazing project of Psychotic Waltz/Deathrow members
Dark Age-same :u.s. heavy metal that reminds noone really unique style and epic songs.
generally there were many u.s. heavy metal bands that released only one album , and that one was so great ..oh well

Death Angel. They never topped "The Ultra-Violence".

That's the first thought I had when I saw the topic. Frolic Through The Park and Act III only had a few good songs while The Ultra-Violence is a fucking thrash metal masterpiece!!
