How many bands have actually only had one good, solid album?

This is really hard for me since I usually always like multiple albums by the artists I am a fan of. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is White Zombie-La Sexorcisto. I thought that Astro Creep sucked and then after that Rob Zombie went solo and I don't much care for the type of music he puts out now either! The only other one for me would be Megadeth-Rust In Peace. That is the only album of theirs where I like every song.

Much as I dislike what Metallica has become, I have to say IMHO their first 3 albums are classics from beginning to end, and the next 2 are also very good. Hardly a band with only 1 good album...

How about Incantation? I only really liked Onward to Golgotha (despite the poor production). There were moments on the other albums, though.

Death Angel. They never topped "The Ultra-Violence".

That's not what the thread is about. I think "The Ultra-Violence" is awesome, but I think "Act III" is a great album and can stand on its own. I listen to it frequently, and I definitely would say it's a "good, solid album". So overall I wouldn't put Death Angel down as a one-hit wonder.
