Just out of curiosity

I have grown up around music all my life, ( my father can play anything with strings ( banjo's not excluded)My great grand ma played piano ( but not like you think, She played Honkey Tonk type stuff, even had the tuner guy place tacks on the hammers for that specific clinky sound)

I am now fixing to go to a tech school ( The Dallas Sound Lab) to learn the recording industry, coincidentally The school is the same one that produced
Pantera's "COWBOYS FROM HELL" and "FAR BEYOND DRIVEN"
Just visiting the place , I had so many ideas,The instrutors are way cool
they where even explaing that you would not want to limit yourself to anything"recording "wise....movie people are looking for studio guys all the time, toy companies, cell phone companies

and out of the 30 peole on my tour there, I was the only one that had interesting realization ( I could even get paid to music scores for video games) Hey KORN did a chunk of the score for HALO 2, I was the only one there that new it...

I have all kinds of music idea's, ( and thanks to cartoon networks"Adult Swim") I have had ideas for cartoon for years but not an outlet

I just wanted to say really "does this sound cool or what?

may even get to work on a the next thrax album ( naaaaa just wishin) :headbang:

I sing, but am shopping around for a guitar. Taking lessons this summer and beyond.

That's so cool, Phobos. Good luck! How long is the tech school? The JC here in Vegas has a handful of classes to take, but not like that! Wow! I'm sure it will be a lot of fun!

P.S. Your Gramma Rocks!

I play some guitar. I would be the first to say that I'm "minimally exceptional" at it, to quote Carlin. But I dig writing riffs, and the guys I've jammed with like the shit I write. Jus' can solo for shitte.

Had a band awhile back, but we had a bitch of a time finding a reliable drummer in the area. (any drummers in the Appleton, WI area? Didn't think so...)

But, I had fun, and liked the songs we wrote. And isn't that the important thing?

Hello? Anyone there? ;)

Played in a band Guitar.. i have 4 guitars 3 electrics and 1 acoustic. A 100 watt Marshall Head. I gave them all to me daughter......teaching her now...

i play guitar, but i just like making my own stuff up,much more exciting than learning to play other people songs, its a great feeling when u make up a kick ass riff, just recently startted amateur recording thru audacity program,i just need a music studio program to have drums put to music.ps i sent some riffs to augdawg and am waiting for a reply :headbang:

I've been playing music since I was about 10 or 11 years old. I played trumpet in band, marching band, concert band until I graduated from high school in 2001. Yes, I was a band geek and damn proud!!! I picked up guitar in summer of 1999 and haven't put it down since. I also picked up bass because no one else had one when I was in school and my buddies needed one, so I play both bass and rhythm guitar. I was in a band in high school, and on occasion jam with a drummer back home, but have yet to have a full blown band since because I've been at a small ass school, where everyone thinks they are Dave Matthews. I.E., no metal and if they do like "metal" its Korn and Hed P.E. :ill: I plan on going to NAU (Flagstaff, AZ) this coming fall and plan on attempting to put together a band. Preferably a metal band that can have fun. Like Anthrax. None of this, goat fucking, satan worshiping, wigger, emo, metal. Good old fashioned metal that is like Anthrax lyrically. If anyone in the area is interested, please let me know. Influences are Motorhead, Ramones, AC/DC, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and old Metallica. I really want to start a band to fuck shit up and have fun :headbang: and maybe raise a little hell  My gig is an Epiphone Flying V and a Crate GX-65, with a Boss Metal Zone, Cry Baby Wah, and a ghetto ass Rogue EQ Pedal. What kind of equipment do you guys abuse?

I've been playin bass since i was 12 (24 now). My most successful band was an alternative punk band called shrinc (dead kennedy's, no means no sound). Our claim to fame was supportin G.B.H once when they came to Ireland. We were also lined up to play with The stiff little fingers and Bad manners but the band split up.

Now taken to playin a bit more guitar but the bass is were my heart is.

yup,

I've played in a few bands- metal, afro caribbean jazz, that kind of thing. Playing trumpet at the moment though but still got my guitars and gear.
