How old were you when you started smoking ?.

Did you know it has been shown that tobacco smokers are one half as likely as non-smokers to develop neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease? You're paying to keep your brain healthy, and your lungs shitty. Also, it is a rather small percentage of tobacco smokers that die of a smoking-related disease, and those are almost unanimously very heavy smokers.

Bringing back an old argument regarding second-hand smoking, and the legality of smoking bars: city air has just as many, usually more, carcinogenic chemicals as the air in a smoky café or bar, as well as the air within a car sitting in traffic. Also, the damaging effects of second-hand smoke are of low enough increased percentage of disease chance to not be even considered a meaningful statistic by generally accepted scientific standard. Such statistics are routinely ignored entirely.

1. Please provide a source for fucking insane information such as the stuff presented in your first paragraph. Or get the fuck out.

2. Yes, but the smoke is combining with the city air (assuming you live in the city). Also, your "generally accepted scientific standard" is a scientific standard for a reason; it's true and presented by people who have done accurate research.

Great references there. I'll just believe you instead of all the scientists.

Did you know that smokers are far more likely than non-smokers to smell like shit, have gross teeth and skin, and eventually die a painful death from lung cancer?

This is the best part:

Also, the damaging effects of second-hand smoke are of low enough increased percentage of disease chance (19-ish%, or x1.19)

Thanks man I have no fucking idea what 19% means.

1. I guess if it's your thing they help you lose your money faster.
2. I guess if it's your thing you can have a reduced-capacity immune system.
3. I guess if it's your thing you can cause similar damage to those around you.

That's the Center For Disease Control. I think they know what they are talking about. Here are some nice tidbits:

"Smoking causes about 90% of lung cancer deaths in women and almost 80% of lung cancer deaths in men. The risk of dying from lung cancer is more than 23 times higher among men who smoke cigarettes, and about 13 times higher among women who smoke cigarettes compared with never smokers."

"Smoking causes coronary heart disease, the leading cause of death in the United States.1 Cigarette smokers are 2–4 times more likely to develop coronary heart disease than nonsmokers."

"Cigarette smoking approximately doubles a person’s risk for stroke"

I could go on.

All those reasons are why I invented this:

Cigarettes are ghey.
It's funny how people try to defend them too.

I hate when people say "I smoke because I'm stressed". Well you wouldn't NEED a cigarette to cope with stress if you hadn't started.

Yep, it is the truth...the calming effect of smoking only helps insofar as coping with the stress of not having a cigarette for X amount of time...

Who gives a shit? Why don't you guys stop beating a dead horse? It's not like smokers aren't already aware that there are big health risks associated with smoking, not to mention the amount of money it costs to maintain the habit. Why the fuck do people ask the question "Why do you smoke?" I would think it should be pretty obvious. The smoker made a stupid decision to start in the first place and now continues to smoke because nicotine is highly addictive. The smoker shouldn't have to defend their habit, because you shouldn't even care in the first place (with the exception of cases in which said habit interferes with your own good health).
