How to tell a drummer his drums are all fake..

This thread is ridiculous.

I still don't understand your panning - if you're an open handed drummer who isn't left handed, why are all of your main cymbals panned to the left, when your drums descend left to right, tom-wise?

Seriously, the only person who I know does this is Gene Hoglan, and really only on the last Strapping album. But he's left handed, so it's all good.

Latest Lamb of God album, all cymbals bar hihat are on the right hand side.

Also, you said YOU were an open handed drummer. I thought this was someone else's band you were recording not yours?

Can we get the story straight?

Does this REALLY fucking matter?

and Paulie, you should take the fact that people thought your drums were just programmed Slate as a compliment, considering the environment Slate drums were recorded in.

Ya cause the guy is trying to pull the wool over peoples eyes. We aren't stupid. If the guy was just honest from the get go there wouldn't be so much hostility. His story changed 10 fucking times already.

And Morgan not to be a dick, your a long time poster and respected member of this community, and I personally have a lot of respect for you, but if its such a waste of a thread why bother posting.

Some of us are interested in this, which makes it relevant. Just cause you think its a waste doesn't mean it shouldn't be here :)

The Sneap forum is becoming a much more public place as it is referenced on a billion websites at this point. Problem is what these new guys dont know is we have all been doing this a VERY VERY long time and can tell when someone is spitting lies. They dont realize how many "pros" actually post here and share advice, not only that they dont know who the "pros" are. Us long time members know who to watch for, and know who gets good results. I cant blame these kids for coming here and posting as I would guess they have some sort of Illusion that posting a song on the Sneap forum is a way to get their stuff heard and possibly "picked up by a lable".

I have been on this forum 3 years, and the amount of daily posts has increased exponentially since then. There are a shit ton more people here then their used to be. They just need to realize if they are honest from the get go we can give them the info they need. Trying to pull the wool over our eyes is not going to get them anywhere. I would personally prefer to hear a guy say "Hey guys I have crappy gear, can you help me get the most out of it" then have a guy lie and say "I have $5000000 studio but my shit sound like it was recorded on a Taskam Porta-Studio, why does it sound like shit"

Too many gear heads with no ears running around this place nowadays, thats what frustrates me. Kids who go out and buy that one piece of gear cause they heard it turns shit into gold, when all they really need to do is learn to use their ears.

As we all know, a good pair of monitors, a few good mics and an interface is all you really need to turn out quality recordings, ok mabe a few plugins too....lol

If you fucking read you'd see that I recorded something in the mean time, because I really wanted to see what that profire could do. So yes, that was all me in the recording, and nothing is "off time" at all. It's all quantized, just an odd fill (I guess).

The cymbals are completely real, with the exception of a few copy+paste section, if you can't accept it, then get off my back, because to me you just sound like you're accusing me of something completely fucking absurd. Just because the recording industry is turning 99% digital and fake, doesn't mean that EVERYTHING out there is digital and fake.

I'm not going conform to certain peoples know it all attitude in this thread. I'll tell you flat out "I do not know it all, and I have a lot to learn", and so does everybody else in here, so either get along, accept what other people are doing with out needing to question it, just because you're a "long time poster", or go somewhere else other than this particular thread; because the hard work I put into my recordings is not worth a few people calling it shit just because the cymbals sound fake to them.

Just a note, I'm not the OP...

lolz... the only word (kinda) that could even begin to express what I just read....

Ok done with this thread and giving any kind of advice to someone who clearly could give a shit about anyone opinions on this forum.

Notice: I do appreciate what you tell, when you're not just flat out insulting. But when you act high and mighty, it pisses people off.

Like I said, I DO appreciate your advice when it's given in a normal fashion.

Ease off on the snare reverb, I think it sounds good actually. There's some weird inconsistencies in the overheads, but that may be mic positioning or even processing. I think it sounds pretty decent to be honest

All of this reads to me that even if the dude is a noob and may not know how to express himself that well, his results speak for themselves. I would say many up and coming bands would kill to have a demo sound as good as the clip he posted does. This thread has been filled with some lulz, but the dude produced a quality result IMO that belies his lack of knowledge or truthfulness as to his methods (if indeed parts are sampled).

I appreciate it. =)
