how were you introduced to November Doom!?

Looking on the internetz for "new" bands. Stumbled upon some site that had a review for TPHD, it had just been released. So, like Beast, I picked it up from The End Records in 2005. Dam, already 4 yrs ago. Anyway, TPHD became one of my all-time favorite metal albums. Yeh, that's how I broke my cheery.

I was ordering cds from TER back in 2002 and decided to give TWTF a chance. Hmm... almost every subsequent ND album I have ordered from TER (those package deals with the book, t-shirt etc). With the exception of the remasters (Vancouver HMV) and the new one.

Back when The Knowing came out, I was online in a chatroom, and people were talking about them. They were all saying how awesome the CD was..and I figured I'd give it a shot. I think I ended up buying it without even hearing a note beforehand (I got the slipcase cover..no poster though) I then got their back catalog, and the rest is history.

To this day, they're one of my favorite bands, and I can STILL buy their CD's without hearing a note, and I know I'll be impressed. I own the entire catalog, the DVD, a TWTF longsleeve....now all I need to do is see them live, and life will be complete.

REad a review for 'The Pale Haunt Departure' on I think Blabbermouth. The fact they were from Chicago caught my eye. Found thier website that had some free mp3 downloads. LOved what I heard so I ordered the album the next day. The last 2 albums have been priority pre-orders since then. Still need to see them live.

I got introduced to them when their first album, Admid Its Hallowed Mirth came out. I was ordering stuff from some distro and they caught my attention so I ordered the album and remained a fan all this time.

Oh great.

Let me guess, it's a bunch of "These guys worship Opeth and wanna be Opeth" crap?

Again, I will state for the record- saying we are similar to them is fine, saying we'll appeal to their fans is fine. Saying we "obviously" are copying them is not fine, because it's completely false.

I'll type up the terrorizer review tomorrow if you want, I don't have a scanner.

Lol I heard about Novembers Doom because a lot of people suggest Death/Doom with an acoustic/distorted, clean/growled mix to Opeth fans looking for more metal, sorry for the honesty. Believe it or not I'm not the only one, god forbid you get fans that already liked a slightly similar but more popular band but gave a damn enough to look for more music. I'll stick with some generic "I lyk deth and doom and novmbers doom put the too togteher nad it waz lik WHOA I like dis" next time.

And now I don't really care about the comparison anyway, but that's how I found you guys so w/e.
