i think shit like rdyandalir, nightshade forests, cries from a restless soul etc push HLTO close, but still

I think "Det Som Engagng Var" is much better than "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss". I can't even really remember any sections off HLTO. I think that no matter how ambient in nature those really good songs from the genre they should still be really memorable after you've heard them many times. Not saying it's a bad tune.

Burzum is one of those "Album" instead of "Song" kind of bands if that makes sense.

well HLTO has some of the most powerful and memorable sections ever in metal, even if they're less immediately accessible than det som.
