I need a new set of rear pads and rotors + sensor.
Also my freaking entire drivers side headlight assembly finally needs to be replaced.

on a positive note I only have about $4K left to pay off the car.

Got new pads and rotors for the front end yesterday. Fucking $500 for the Saab rotors. Fuck. I also need to do the rear. My boss had new rotors put in like 11,000 miles ago. What the hell would cause them to warp so quickly? It's not me, I've never had problems with brakes...

of course if I go to MINi to do the job ... $800 big ones.

It's simple but a pain in the ass job. You could do it if ya want. Get a C-clamp and a ratchet set and you're good. Save yourself some money.

i know ... i looked into it ... time vs $ factor makes no sense ... there is some weird stuff to be done with rear MINI brakes as well.
i'll let the pros do it.

my boss knows lots about cars, and has saved me a bunch of $ over the years. it's definitely good to know someone that knows cars, shops are expensive as shit. sometimes i think i should go to mechanics school or something and get in on the racket.

it was $500 for new pads and rotors installed, and a balance/rotation. still pretty steep. this was at the saab dealer, lurch, because i got a quote from several independent shops and it was actually more! i get a friends/family discount at this place so i said fuck it.
