Yeah, I definitely prefer the looks of older models. We looked and looked but just could not find a used car we liked with the mileage and price we wanted. So, we started looking at new cars like the Veloster, but could not pass up the deal on that Accent. I don't think it's an ugly car, but it's not my dream car, which is a late 80's or 90 Volvo 240 in mustard yellow. If someone can find me one of those that's been parked in some old person's garage for the last 25 years and barely used, that'd be good.

i don't know that they ever came in "mustard yellow" though. possibly they did, but the only yellow colour i've seen them in (and if you're from sweden, you've seen A LOT of 240's. A LOT.) is a sickly pale yellow/beige tint

hahaha. Apparently I'm pretty committed to the GenPu, the garage is full of them! My wife has zero desire to ditch hers, she loves it. Hers is bog standard and quite enjoyable to drive, even with a god damn automatic. I tried to convince her to get a Jeep Wrangler or Dodge Challenger instead but... well I'm thankful for the low payments and great gas mileage of her econobox!

Erik, that is like a CARS FROM THE FUTURE! in a 1970s magazine. I like it, especially that headlight container bit.

Dream cars? I have a few:

Pontiac Firebird 400, me Ma had one of these before I existed.

Final generation Mazda RX-7 because it's the sexiest vehicle ever.

1985 Toyota 4Runner (first year of EFI, last year of straight front axle). I owned one of these and it was glorious.

That would be the perfect garage for me. Haul ass, carve canyons, lug gear / desert escape.

That being said the last 10 years of driving silver, Japanese, turbocharged, manual transmission'd wagons has been just AOK with me. Perfect musician car and always fun to drive.

@NAD: I stopped by the Volvo dealer this morning. I went to look at an S80 that is marked down by like a million dollars but it looks like it was used as a loaner cuz the cream driver's seat is now blue from someone's jeans
I also found an S60 that was PICKED UP IN SWEDEN (extra metal points) and is of a color that is heretofore unavailable in the US. The S60 is a hella nice car.
My first world problems in choosing between various Scandinavian comfort-mobiles continue in that they also have one of the last remaining Polestar variant
C30s. Ever. Only 250 were made. Even the regular C30 is no longer in production.
So, the obvious question is: which one do I get?

Oh yeah, I transported two medium sized plants across town in my wagon the other night. It made a minor mess, but more importantly halfway home my wife and I both said "THAI FOOD!" and stopped by our favoUrite restaurant. As per usual at this place, we sat there and gorged for a solid hour before driving home. It is pure magic.

During our time of eating, whatever was living in those two plants before they were fetched from their former home has now apparently now taken up residence in my car. I found two odd looking moths over the weekend, one of which was excommunicated and now lives in my garage (I watched it fly toward our clothing donation pile, never to be seen again), but the second I don't know where it ended up. Possibly dead, I did flick it pretty roughly, but saw no corpse afterward, so I'll have to check the Daily Moth's obituaries later today.

However, something else remains, as I found a small and light web constructed in the passenger side seat belt area just this morning, which has since been torn asunder. I have no idea what it is, or if it remains there, as I immediately took action and engaged upon what will soon be known in the history books as Old Vacuum Holocaust. If this is my last post at RC one can only surmise that it was poisonous and the foul thing murdered me whilst driving to the mountains this morning. Cheers to all.
