I bought a new car (the "I wanna be like Gugs" thread)...

2008 has the infinitely better styling. I hated the previous generation Accord. They looked like a retarded fish Prelude. Retarfishlude.

I'm kinda in line with Cara's reasoning although the 08's book value is higher. I aso disagree with you Nadrian about the styling. I dig em both but don't think the ealier generation was ugly, in fact I quite like it. :loco:

I drove by the dealership in Canton who has the '06 one today but there was nowhere for my bigass work truck to park. One of my mechanic customers about 2 miles from the dealership offered to inspect it for me so that's cool.

Both of those Accords are nice. I'd go with the second one, though, but only if it's like $8000 or so.

Because 2008 was a total redesign and everything about the car is better than the previous generation. It's slightly bigger though and that can be a detriment if you like the smaller cars. Just give it a thorough mechanical inspection. Make sure the clutch feels pretty good.

Dude I totally drove by a 7th generation V6 coupe yesterday and thought "that isn't ugly, it looks good!" But I remember not caring for them when they were released, and REALLY liking gen8 when they appeared.

Buying both is clearly the right answer.

I took the 2006 Honda Coupe out for a ride and had my mechanic customer check it out. That bitch was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun to drive but it had a bunch of minor shit that needed to be taken care of that I wasn't about to tackle nor would the dealer want to spend so I passed. But holy fuck...

I drove a 4cyl that my mechanic customer has for sale and it's actually got some nice pep to it but it's automatic and I really think that's a deal breaker for me. My practicality may be coming back and settle for a 4cyl sedan but there is hardly manual transmissions out there AT ALL. It's insane! I found a 2010 with crazy low miles but here I am looking at another 5k to spend. Srsly?

The only people that drive manual transmissions in America anymore have already posted in this thread.

I may just buckle down and try to get the best possible price I can out of that 2010 EX manual I posted there (wish it had leather). Not that I drive a shit-ton but only 39k miles, one owner? The book value is higher than that price too. Fucking Hondas don't depreciate whatsoever. Unfortunately, I'm on the buying end. :tickled:

I was just thinking....being in New England you could probably find a bunch of manual Subarus.

edit: 20,000th post btw
