I bought a new car (the "I wanna be like Gugs" thread)...

well, I'm heading into the dealership battleground tomorrow at 1PM. wish me luck

Drove off the lot with a brand new 2015 Jetta SE, 1.8 turbo. It took like 5 hours but they took back my old car without even driving it! Those dudes don't waste any time. The 2015 is generally regarded as a major improvement over the last two years, so here's to hoping it holds up! Feels amazing atm, the turbo is pretty slick.

Yaaaaay turbo! :kickass:

Hey I might need a commuter car soon. Doomcifer, sell me your old Accord when you get your newish baller one. Unless it has rust damage. Fuck that shit.

Thinking about a Subaru Legacy to fit the bill. It'll probably be my first automatic transmission that I'll buy. Maybe I should just face my fate and get a Buick.

Leaning towards a Mazda 3, any objections?

Styling wise I like the KIa Optima more, but I hear they disintegrate on impact. I perused accords/civics, but not feeling em. Ugh, fuck this shit.

If lurch was here he'd tell us about the 400 Buicks he's owned over the years, all of which got better MPG than his Mazda3.

We're buying our Mazda3 in about a month, lease is almost up. Nearly 4 years, over 32k miles, new brakes, tires, and oil. That's it... so far. As much as I loved/hated my Mazdaspeed3, the plain Jane version is perfectly fine. Low expectations, low maintenance, cheap, almost fun to drive, blah blah blah.

So the car that I wanted and ended up walking out of the dealership on, sold the very next day. I was going to go down and seal the deal this weekend if I hadn't heard back from them. I really saw myself in that fucking car. The bitch sits on the lot for over a month then sells the VERY NEXT DAY after I start dealing. Egg on my face!

I probably am. In a realistic sense, it's my "dream car" after driving that 6 spd V6 last week. These fuckers are RARE AS FUCK and it just hit their lot 2 days ago from trade-in. She is gonna send me pics tomorrow and I'll take the hour drive on Sunday to check it out/wheel-n-deal. One owner and the Crfax shows that he did every single regular scheduled maintenance according to the book, all through the dealership. Looking good.
