I bought a new car (the "I wanna be like Gugs" thread)...

I'm pretty much leaning towards an Acura TSX 06-08 at this point. Found one in the LBC with low miles, but not a fan of the emerald green color.

:Stay Tuned:

The dealership has been hounding me with emails and phone calls ever since I made the light inquiry. Vunts even offered to take some money off the asking price if I would venture over for a test drive. It's going to take a wee bit more groveling to get me off my keister.

I love those TSX cars. A buddy of mine had one. Then he had another, which was even nicer, but that got repossessed. Dang.

Hey speaking of cars, do you have a 1985 and/or 1986 Toyota pickup and/or 4Runner languishing on the front yard in desperate need of repair? Well fret no more, friends!

Yes yes, these official factory service manuals could BOTH be yours, for the low low price of [bidding now live]! Don't wait, bid now, bid high, bid often, bid whilst intoxicated on a Wednesday afternoon!

I rolled in for a test drive earlier today. Enjoyed the 4 minute stroll for what it was, and almost came close to pulling the trigger. This whole process feels far more taxing than what it should be. Only concern I have with the TSX is that it gets rather sub-par mpg, everything else was spiffy.

The scheister dealership was not as pushy as I was expecting, but pushy as far as being vexed with the whole process. Furthermore, vunts only took $250 off the total. I'm trying to pit them against another dealership up north, lets see if they hack it down a wee bit more. Bleh

Woot! Done with this car business. Picked up a 2007 Accord EX 4-cyl auto. hahaha
I gave up on several ideas this morning 1) buying a new car and eating thousands in depreciation 2) finding a combination of sporty *and* useful that was also affordable (I'm not NAD) and 3) finding a manual

Once I tossed those ideas, it was dreadfully simple to find a nice, safe, economical car.

I'll save buying a Cayman for after I graduate :loco:

Looking at an 06/07 4 cylinder Accord now myself. The dealership which had the TSX didn't lick my scrotum as I was expecting. Honestly don't feel like dropping an extra 5k on what is essentially an accord with a nicer dressing. The Asscord also gets better mpg, and has more leg room than the TSX.

Accord is a better choice.
I'm checking out the Mustang V6 manuals before they become extinct. What's another $25k of debt?

In negotiations for one as we speak. Asking price 10k, trying to get dindu down to 8k, but vunt wants more. Thing is, this a dealership that deals in selling new Acuras, with this Accord being oldest car on their lot by eons, and just taking up space. Being a huge ass prick is extremely fun.

Thanks dear sir. I was actually getting fed up with the whole process and had originally set out to pick up the TSX I had test drove a week prior. The asshat dealership sold it literally an hour before I had arranged to go pick it up. All in all, I feel better about this buy than the TSX which had 3 owners (one from Joisey) and was in a slight fender bender. The Accord was driven solely by an elderly person on her way to and from Sunday service.

Last night I had a dream that I bought two used cars from Dreamlord for $3,500 total. One was a '90s era BMW 3-series, and I don't remember the other one. Seemed like a good deal sight unseen, so thanks for shipping out them my way, man.
