I bought a new car (the "I wanna be like Gugs" thread)...

how much is she selling it for? I'll take it.

I think she'd unload it for $1500. Not right now though. She's enamored with it again because she got 30 mpg on a recent long road trip.

I'm trying to get her to get an XC60 or 70. She's got a big ass dog.

Holy crap this is so good on so many levels.

So for kicks I'm looking for a full size truck with manual transmission. Guess who makes one anymore? NOBODY. Dodge, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, and Chevy only come with automatics now, even base level V6 regular cab things. Well, Dodge still offers a clutch pedal if you pony up for a heavy duty with the diesel ($35k+ WTF), but nobody else even offers one any longer. I had my doubts, but now I'm convinced that America is doomed. Apparently we are now a nation of Susans. Might as well just watch Mansome, buy 16 kinds of hair product, and be done with it. Fuckit, I'm keeping the Mazda. Apparently driving a Japanese wagon is the only way to have any balls these days. :guh:

Complaining about shit that doesn't matter rules. :kickass:

I know the Tacoma isn't a full-sized truck, but I'm almost totally sure you can still get one with a stick. Great truck, worth looking into.

pretty sure those have been gone for YEARS
Yeah I'm pretty behind the times when it comes to pop things. I mean I just watched Blair Witch 2 tonight for fuck's sake. Granted, I had seen it before (first time was like 3 years ago). I'm not surprised really, I just hadn't been paying attention I suppose.

The Nissan Frontier as well, and the GMC/Chevy small things too. But that's it, which is really dumb. Not that I've owned a truck in over 8 years... but I'd like to again someday. I still don't "get" automatics really, I drive my wife's car sometimes, and I get confused. I floor it and it shifts down 3 gears, which scares me, so I left off the gas, and then I'm going from loud to slow in 0.5 seconds all whilst trying to shove my left foot through the floorboard searching in vain for a clutch pedal that never existed. Maybe I'm just a fuckin' idiot.

Are you sure the Frontier comes in a manual? That Tacoma I linked to the other day was the only manual pick-up I could find in the entire tri-state area

hahhaha ... last time I was in Europeland I rented an auto which my then g/f's brother tried to drive. he never drove an auto before ...

he's attempt was more pathetic than me learning to column shift a Trabant.

it's really funny watching manual drivers try to do "too much" in an auto.

i hate leaving my auto MINI in auto ... always use the paddles or manual shifter for better control ... especially since I only have 110+ hp to wrangle.

Yeah, you can still get them in stick. Not all trims but some. Same with the Xterra, which is still an actual vehicle instead of the womanmobile that the 4Runner has become. Modern cars are better than ever, but modern trucks are fucking gay.

I currently have Buick's website open. Make of that what you will
They killed Pontiac but kept Buick. :yuk:

haha, true. Whenever I drive an automatic I feel like I'm supposed to be doing more, it doesn't even feel like driving. Might as well just fall asleep and let it steer ourselves oblivion, like god damn Minority Report.

While we were in our marital counseling session today, someone pulled in and keyed the non-hail-damaged side of the Volvo. WTF

Anyone know how to buff that shit out?
