Nope.
The only car I can think of that I had good luck with was my '94 Ranger. Clutch failed at 115,000 miles. No other repairs/accidents whatsoever.

question on a car issue for a friend of mine ...

she had her car die a few times while "driving" and the mechanic said it's the alternator ... changed it ...
on the way home from the shop ... a few hour drive ... it died again close to her house.
she waited 5 minutes and restarted the car and was able to park.?!?!?

any ideas?

I think it might be the neutral safety switch but that usually doesn't kill a car while driving

Air flow sensor could be fucked up or clogged with something. If this were the case, the car would stall when it gets too hot. Wait a few minutes and you can go a short distance again. For some reason this usually doesn't throw a code so it takes mechanics a few tries before they figure it out.

I read this last night. Impressive. I like the TDI but they sure are expensive. Not worth it.
It's hard to believe how good cars are these days when I grew up with unmitigated pieces of shit. You could probably get 200,000 miles out of one of those $14,000 Kias
