I'm becoming a pedal freak lately. But hey, 30 euros, cool deal. The funny thing is that I just realized it was the old black label made in Japan with the jrc 4558 chip. :)

I like it so far. Sounds tighter than my TS, probably at the expense of the warmth but it works well with a marshall.

Yay!
I made a small mod (aka SD-808).
Replaced R7 with a 10k.
Replaced C10 with a 10uF.
Removed C6.
Replaced R16 with a 100ohm.
Removed D6. (added a jumper)

Sounds really nice. Smoother but still tighter and less midrangey than a TS.
Happy.
Maybe I'll replace clipping diodes with germanium diodes next time.
After further inspection the chip was indeed the good old JRC 4558D (not DD).

Haha! Sorry dude, I just had a nap. I guess I'm not totally waked up.:goggly: Sorry for the poor quality, It's my crappy webcam...
Here's the front (nothing special):

Here's the back panel with the so called "black label":

Afaik, the later sd-1 made in taïwan do not have the same chip.
