I CREATED AN OPETHIAN LAST NIGHT

The more pure rockage for us, I say!!! Opeth makes me want to build a cabin somewhere in the forest. so I can live there in peace with nature for the rest of my life. With all of their cd's of course, my guitar, and a woman would be nice, too! :p
Same here- but with a male, not a female!! :)

5 years ago i went on a bit of a rampage and mailed out a mix CD i made of Opeth stuff to as many people as possible and tried my best to get a whole bunch of people into them. It eventually ended up turning the entire John Petrucci forum into fanboys. That was my greatest "opeth" achievement. It was fun.

What songs are the best to introduce people to Opeth with? One way is to go with something from Damnation to get them hooked, then introduce them to the heavier stuff... but part of me just wants to start them on something heavier right away.

Any suggestions on this- I really need to make some Opethians to befriend!! :)

aww you two get each other's numbers and start building.
LOL!

That is the one I usually use- I sat down a group of my friends (who know a bit about music, they play guitar and stuff) and made them watch the Leper Affinity on the Lamentations DVD...

BUT they were fucking idiots and basically made fun of the growling vocals and would not watch the whole thing. It made me want to reconsider being friends with them!

....probably because Mr. Bungle is only listenable if you are a huge Mike Patton fan. Otherwise, it is quite uninteresting... in my opinion. :Smug:
I think you are right, but I did want to show her anyways.

Oddly enough, Mr. Bungle was my first exposure to Mike Patton.

It's so obvious MixGrafix wants to bum this Kevin person. He knows the "raw" "emotion" of Opeth's music will make Kevin defenceless. That's why he insisted Kevin wouldn't listen to any Opeth before their "session". My guess is he'll try to slip it in during Bleak or Ghost of Perdition...
