Uaral - Sounds of Pain

This is some special stuff right here. Like another Top 5 contender this year, Mar De Grises, they are from Chile. They play a brand of doom/death/folk music with atmosphere galore. If you enjoy Empyrium, Estatic Fear's Somnium Obmutum, or even Agalloch, you will love this release.

On a sidenote, this is their DEBUT album. Excellence.

This is awfully purdy, and the mix with those deep growls makes a cool sound. I shall investigate these sound samples further! Oh yes, I shall!

:kickass: I didn't know you were sending me stuff!

That reminds me, did you move yet or are you still at the same address? I'm sending you that Mahhdirivishu Orchestra and some other random shit this weekend.

Outstanding! :kickass:

Listening to Sounds of Pain right now....geez, this is sadness. Will take a few listens to really appreciate this just because it's pretty deep. There are definitely moments of Empyrium and Tenhi going on (but with less 'romanticism'), and some of those deep & drawn out growls fall into funeral doom depression...it's all very dark.

Is this a 2004 release? Is the follow up, "Acidal", an EP? And most importantly, is it me or is the "Sounds of Pain" album cover listed on their discography upside down?!

That's the reflection of the forest off the water. :loco:

This is just cruel. I can't get these songs on their site to play! Nor can I find them on soulseek.

me neither *sigh* why not add mp3s like ordinary people, it's not like the big bad music pirates are going to make them loose all of the massive cash they'll earn from selling some hundred or so cds in the coming years ;|
