I'll take an order Metal with a side of Folk please.

I've been on a huge folk-tinged metal as of late. I know a bunch of bands that fall into thsi category but want MORE. If I can't get any new reccomendations, hopefully they will help others who view this thread.

PS - It doesn't have to incorporate metal actually. Good dark folk is always needed too.

Examples:

Empyrium (the kings of folk-tinged metal)
Uaral
Estatic Fear
Tenhi
Borknagar (first album only)
Early Ulver

...plus so much more that I cannot think of off the top of my head due to an extreme brainfart.

PSS - I don't know if they have any folk elements but I still need to check out HADES. (the band J. & Erik have been talking about)

Might be a bit inaccessible but try "Thousand Swords" by Graveland or Nokturnal Mortum's "Goat Horns".

otyg - the demos and älvefärd (the best folk metal band, but apparently quite an aquired taste)
storm - nordavind (great folk metal, side project of fenriz and satyr)
lumsk - åsmund fregdejevar (nice and up beat folk metal with really good female and male vocals)
asmegin - hin vordene sod og so (technical and variying, great stuff)
triakel - pipe melodia 8 ft (traditional swedish folk music)
behemoth - grom and sventevith (black/folk - really good and pretty overlooked it seems)
nokturnal mortum - nechrist (i guess you've already them but i'll mention it just in case)
isengard - høstmørke (quality folk metal signed fenriz)
vintersorg - hedniskhjärtad (folky/black of high caliber)

Ya, good stuff man. That is their favorite album of mine. Their latest, Pagan, is pretty good.

I know of OTYG, Storm, Nokturnal Mortem, Behemoth, and Isengard. I will check out Lumsk and Asmegin asap though. Thanks!!

I dunno if you'd consider Nest and f the wand and the moon: folk, but I like them both a lot.
