And yeah, it's cool if EITHER person can/will do the housework/kitchen work. Both of my parents can cook fairly well, my dad does a lot of simpler dishes, but they're still good, my mom often does fancier stuff because she's a better cook.

My dad always worked a shitload (24/7 every other week, evenings and weekend off every other week) and mom took care of us kids. And I think that's fine, proper even. These days, women are barely even ALLOWED to take care of the household while the men work, I think that sucks. But I'm not saying it has to be like that either.

When my dad was working 20 hours a day, mom did that shit, now he works 4 on 4 off so he usually does some on his days off.

Yeah, sounds like we agree here. If both parents want the career life and have someone else take care of THEIR children.. Well, I feel a bit sorry for the kids, but it works. And if the dude stays at home, that's fine of course.
