I think I found "THE" reverb for me. FREE!

If you want free awesome impulse responses (you could donate though..)

Their bricasti m7 impulses are TRUE STEREO (and include presets for Reverberate, my favorite IR loader)

But as mickrich said... GET ValhallaVintageVerb and ValhallaRoom RIGHT NOW.
they are 50$ bucks each and they are FUCKING AWESOME.

Anyway, I've never heard of these, and while a lot of them aren't that great to my ears, I've found several really good ones, and some of the plates will probably become my main drum reverbs now. I haven't tried them on vocals or leads yet.

What are people using to run IRs these days? I tried SIR many years ago but back then it was too taxing on my computer. I'm using Cubase so I have the IR loader in that, but I'm not to fond of the way it works with importing, and I often move projects back and forth between computers so the preset system for that plugin seems like it'll make a mess with mobility. Been looking at Altiverb but it's a bit pricey. But I'd go for it if it's what works best!

I'm using SIR2. IIRC the original SIR plug sucks ass by comparison.

I think reverence is decent as well, but find the ability to tweak stuff like the envelope of the IR and the eq in SIR 2 considerably better than reverence.

Impulses are static whereas a good algorithmic verb has movement and life.

Actually if you put a Digi Short delay or similiar very light Chorus plug in after your impulse reverb on the Aux Return Channel modulating the reverb a bit you can get great movement into impulse reverbs as well...try it out, it helps alot with longer impulse verbs! I still think the Acousticas Lex 300 Library with some modulation afterwards is simply a killer verb! But the Vintage Verb sounds pretty rad also, yeah!
