If your in the mood for some cheese...

Everything grunge was selling! Sign someone from Seattle! Its all about the short term dollars :)

Record executives arent known for being smart, or they would have realised people who can write catchy rock songs are worth their weight in gold, even if the band name wont sell records anymore!

But Warrant are from Hollywood, not Seattle. And have a reputation as an LA hair band. Simply putting grunge music on a Warrant album won't make the mid-90s music fans go "Wow man, let's buy new Warrant!!!"

Grunge isn't a genre... it's been a trend....
what have Pearl Jam, Nirvana and Soundgarden in common?!
just that they're from Seattle, that's all...

That doesnt matter! Record companies dont think that way! They see the new trend and see heaps of bands making loads of money and go "Well, lets get Warrant to give it a bash, we can drop them if they crash and burn!"

Well, if Warrant had any musical integrity then they would have said, "Uh, no, we'll stick to what we're good at". Granted, that's not really much, but they still should have put their foot down.

Agreed, but there was nothing like making a grungealbum, that's bullshit... and indeed recordcompanies don't know a fuck about decent music, because they're selling Bitchney Spears and other American jumpsters as well. It was easy to label a band as grunge as there was (is) no decent description what grunge is about. And so recordcompanies did.... :Puke:

Grunge fans back then thought that bands like Warrant were the gayest thing out. Nothing could persuade them to buy one of their albums, grunge or not. Silly move, Warrant!
