do you mean image as in a media touchup to sell better or sorta the stories that surround a band?
while the music can be quite good I have a lot of moral issues listening to a band that has heavy brain damage, not just but also because I'd support the band whilst listening to their stuff. Fortunately there's not many bands in that category which I miss this way.
normally a crappy "image" goes hand in hand with crappy music, e.g. the over-hyped shit of Burzum and similars.
I have no problem with ridiculous corpsepaint and stuff, it's somewhat entertaining but I can't stand ill-minded people who express their egotrip lyricwise or kill/abuse people to raise their "I'm so fuckin evil"-level.
That being said, honest and intelligent music doesn't need an image...
