Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight cover

but of what I hear he has also snares with a lot of post processing and overcompressed
Yeah that's true, that's the reason why it's good that they also included dry samples...even if I use them rarely tbh^^
I'm lucky that my drummer likes to think that he realy hit that snare as hard as it sounds now  So as far as it goes for him i NEVER could "overcompress" the snare....but that's why I do the mixes;)

Well I already have SD but I didnt used it yet because SD sucks too much memory RAM, and to have a really good sound, the mic ambiences must be on. If I turn on those mics the SD will suck me 1g at least. My shitty pc has 2g, so for now it´s kinda hard to use it. Even at 16 bits mode.:erk:
Really? Strange tough, my PC is more than 3 years old, also just 2 GB ram, SD takes about 0.8 - 1 GB when all samples loaded and it's not giving any problems to me...really a pitty for you.

Yep I think it will be much better dude! I find it causes a bit of a problem for the toms when they come in on the left.

I see. I will change that. Thanks for calling my attention to that thing.:)

I think the bass could be turned up, but other than that it sounds great.

Thanks a lot for the comment. I might record a real bass soon and might also end the problems with the low end from that fake bass.

I can run SD and a couple more tracks but not many, that´s the problem. There are projects that I like to load a bunch of sythns, with SD I cant run too many tracks. When comes to mixing it´s even worse. For example with SD open and more 4 tracks of TSX30, tube screamears, compressors, equalizers in almost every track, my PC almost explodes!lol With my PC I just need to load 4 ampsims a few more shit like studio devil in the bass and a couple of compressors and saturators to have the ram working at maximum.

It will come the time that a new pc will become a saviour!lol
WOW...Just WOW

Thanks a lot dude:kickass:

Yeah true....that's the problem if you want to edit everything at anytime...
I freeze tracks or deactivate them if I edit something specific...like when programming drums 1 gzutar is enough and so on....
but a newer pc would be pure win...mine's always a pussy with too much reverb loaded lol

Yeah this backing track is working pretty well with vocals, I agree with black neon bob.

Btw I just tryed and recorded a first vocal attempt. I´ll post a first (one minute) clip within the next hours!

Holy crap! Mega props to everyone involved in this. This is just awesome sounding. It did my ears good to hear this, and restored my faith in music to hear people cover this classic so well.

You really think so, Carlos? :) Thanks so much, dude! Fucking glad, you dig it. I could do a lot better yet, when I have more time.

Ja man, you're vocals get better each time. You sounded really really good on this tune and if its only a quick attempt I'm sure a final version with the harmonies and all would be killer.

So here is my first attempt :)

It´s far beyond to be perfect yet, but it shows the direction it could go. Like I said, on easter I have some free days and could make a perfect take for ya, if you wish (for this I took 20 minutes). Harmonics is no problem, as well then.

I really like it dude:) I like the way you sing without trying to copy Bruce voice, adds a distinctive character. Sounds good and you did your own interpretation of the song. Mega props for that.:headbang:

This is a good exercise for me, so be 100% sure, I´m not disapointed, if you let Digitaloutput be THE Sirene for this cover :) I´ll try some more takes just for fun in the next days. Btw let me say, that I love your drumfills in the meantime. Your work is blooming, after vocals being added.

I think that could exist 2 versions of this music with 2 different singers. But you guys may not find it very interesting, I dont know what your opinion on this...
But you know what came to my mind? You guys joining forces to do something different. Different I mean something like, you sing the 1 verse, digital the pre verse. Both on chorus, or one sing the first half and the Digital the other half. But maybe this is to crazy to put in practice, no?

If you guys think that only makes sense 1 version of the song. Stilllifer have to give is opinion too because he also worked hard. Cant be only me deciding this. Hope you undestand Felix.

Thanks a lot Felix about the drums. When I did the drums I tried to be faithful to the Iron Maiden song, but always adding something different here and there as the double bass drum and some drum fills to kill the boredom. But I think that the groove is there. Of course there are many things that could have been better. But working with fake shit it´s never easy.:loco:
