I can relate to the problem because my friends who live in the "boonies" have the same problem... they eat everything they plant, and they shit everywhere... it sucks. I think if you had a dog he/she could scare them away... but for now, try something less painful for the animal...

On the topic of air guns, a couple of mates and I went shooting rabbits yesterday; but there were none. As a result, a friend used some sticks to pick up sheep jobby and place it on a bucket for target practise. What a mess.
