I'm really starting to look into the early Italian metal scene and I'm quiet impressed. They have some very pioneering bands.

Italian Bands I've checked out:

Death SS
Bulldozer
Necrodeath
Schizo
Mortuary Drape
Electrocution

Anymore I should know about?

Opera IX maybe? I don't like them, but maybe you will. Check the reviews on Metal-Archives. I've been hearing great things about Necromass as well.

* Funeral Oration (black metal)
* Legion of Darkness (black metal)
* Gory Blister (death metal)
Hour of Penance (modern, but good, death metal)
Obscure Devotion (black metal)
Void of Silence (doom metal)
* Art Inferno (black metal)
Eligor (black metal)
Mephisto (Celtic Frost/Hellhammer style bm)
Sadist (weird/experimental death metal. only their earlier stuff, as their last album is pure nu metal)
Coram Lethe (avant garde death metal)
Illogicist (Italy's answer to Atheist)
Waffen SS (good NSBM)

the *ed bands are essential, IMO the rest are good. that should be enough for now. let me know if you need more.

I didn't know that Paul Chain, Adramelch, Dark Quarterer, Doomsword, and Horrid were from Italy...

edit: I feel like a dumbass

Well considering Paul Chain was in Death SS, that one should've been obvious enough. :loco:
