My iRiver IHP-140 arrived today. Completely awesome machine, the sound quality alone pisses all over the weak and puny iPod. Looking forward to tomorrow whan I get to demonstrate it's power to the iPodders at work. Off to play with my new toy some more.

The Iriver is the Venom of mp3 players, while the iPod is the Nelson Twins.

There was an article in the Courier Mail this morning all about iPods, not one mention of anything similar - I'm guessing it was an advertorial or something, but it didn't say so.

Hmmm... not sure what Spiffmeister paid for his, but mine cost me £269 from www.advancedmp3players.co.uk and they ship worlwide. Second time I've bought from them, they are a very highly regarded online store.

They're currently way over-priced Winmar. There just isn't enough competition in the market to bring the price down to something reasonable.
$600+ for a 20gig version?? That's rubbish.

I paid about $700 for my 40 gig iRiver. That was cheaper than the 40 gig iPod.

Yeah, probably overpriced, but I don't car. It went on the credit card so it wasn't real money.

Over here the 40gb iPod sells for £399 so for me that was a massive saving, especially as the iRiver is a better machine. The iPod is way overpriced.

Sounds like they, like most things, are out of my price range at the mo. Shame, as I could really do with something like that. Oh well, another thing to add to the list!
