I've never heard an Opeth song. What's a good one to start me off?

I like Ayreon, Symphony X, Dream Theater, Angra, Tool, just to name a few if that helps narrow down.

Hopefully I'll like it enough to get the cd and become a fan

Well definetly "The drapery falls" got me into Opeth and it will get you into ´em as well!

I'd say Advent, The Drapery Falls and The Moor. They aren't the best songs but they're good ones to start with
