Jackson Stars RR-J2SP

Where's the difference between RR24 and Stars-J2SP? And the STars got a licensed Floyd?!? SHit!

MOP inlays, Schaller floyd, gold hardware, booster, Cream binding, a bit better overall quality (Am I right?).

And the Stars floyd is licensed, yeah, but it's Schaller, GERRRRRRMAN.

Which is almost as good as the original floyd, I've had no problems with mine yet, works like horse.

But except of the color their is no difference, or? Same body, same pickups...And the RR24 got a original Floyd, or? but yes, Schaller is also good. And the EMG gainboost is not the best so why don't buy a RR24? When you want to have another color - go to a painter.

The binding on the Stars looks like white from about a meter off, what difference does it make?

It's sure as hell better than black though, looks bad.

Sorry, Jose! I got to agree on that. IMO the RR24 looks ugly with black  Although i think the red one looks better than the Yellow with black binding. Otherwise it's white/creme all the way for me. Although the Shecter im getting has no neck binding but it still looks awesome so i don't really bother about it.

Different pickups (RR24 comes with EMG 81, J2SP with HZ).
RR24 doesn't have original floyd (I think it's made in Japan/China/Korea)
EMG gainboost isn't the best, BUT there's the hole there for a replacement (RR24 doesn't).
Re-painting...too much messing about (why change colours anyway?).

And yeah, the Schaller trems are made in the same place as Original FR systems, but mine isn't amazing. I've never played an original so I'm curious to feel it. Maybe oneday I'll upgrade.

green pinstripes? :)

Haha, good point.

Your future (when will you have it?) RR1 has a OFR I guess.
And I think it's impossible to install a OFR in a Schaller routing because the Shaller is shorter.

Ah yeah, true! Totally forgot about that.

He hasn't even shipped the guitar yet, so I'm guessing maybe 3 weeks. Maybe more, maybe less. It's the shipping companies that are fucking us around, not giving us a proper quote for the size but then when they did and he took it to be shipped, they told him it was too big. So he's gonna have to send it without the hardcase so it's smaller/lighter and see how we get on.

Does your go out of tune? I had 4 Schaller FRs on different gutiars and neither of them kep in tune 100% after a major dive or bend with whammy. They were ok for flutters and smaller bends like that.

Mine seems ok, yeah. It doesn't stay in tune 24/7 but after dives and pull ups, it's fine.

That reminds me... On my Stars and on my cheapass Kramer. Whenever I dive all the strings go slightly out of tune, the same amount, but when i then again scream/go upwards, they go back to tuned. And visa versa.

Is this normal? I hardly notice it tho.

If my strings are properly stretched it wont go out of tune. No matter how i abuse it...

IS THIS NORMAL? Fuck yeah i love it...:kickass:

Original Floyd doenst go out of tune.
I have the Scythe with german made Floyd and it stays in tune perfectly and forever.
Even my tuner cant notice dives and pull offs, its great.

Mine isn't German made. Most probably Japan or Chinese made. I guess it would come under the category of a "OFR Replica"

But yeah it doesn't really go out of tune which is awesome. It did go out of tune when i didn't stretch the strings properly though....but thats normal.

Not the body and neck at least.

Main differences are the looks.

J2SP: Ivoroid binding, MOP sharkfins, golden hardware
RR24: Black binding, MOTO sharkfins, black hardware
Ltd RR24: Ivoroid binding, reversed MOTO sharkfins, black hardware

Pickups are EMG HZ and EMG 81, so there's no worse pickup, it's just a mater of taste.

So I'd say that the only real phisic difference is the booster hole, but...

...and you still bitch about the RR24? Mine stays perfectly in tune after as many dive bombs and squeals I want to do  Of course the binding stuff and the MOP inlays are interesting, but they're not going to make your guitar sound better or anything.

I may take that for the first 1 or 2 days, but after that, sorry but no

Just tested it. Did sick harmonic squeals, and dives, and heavy bending on all strings. Checked the tuner, it was slightly, only a very little bit off, I could not hear the difference between that and when I had it perfectly tuned.

:)

 RR24 attacks, bad comments on the J2SP are taken back  People this is not a battle between models, and I'm not trying to prove the RR24 better and I'm still jealous of your Wildchildesque RRs, there's no need to take things back.

I'm taking nothing back...

I said:
"It doesn't stay in tune 24/7 but after dives and pull ups, it's fine."

And that is also what I said:
"It takes a while for mine to go out of tune after hours of abuse."

If it was total shit, I'd admit it, but it's not. It's just not perfect. I can play it for a day or two and I won't need to adjust the tuning, but I won't be able to go a week without doing it.
